The Leadership Note is a newsletter written by Erik Novack. This page explains what information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. The short version: the only personal information we ask for is the email address you use to subscribe, and it goes directly to our newsletter platform, beehiiv.

What we collect

• Your email address, and your name if you choose to provide it, when you fill out the subscription form.
• Standard technical information that beehiiv records when you subscribe or open emails, such as approximate location, device type, and whether an email was opened. This helps us understand what readers find useful.

How the subscription form works

The subscription form on this site is provided by beehiiv, the platform that publishes and delivers The Leadership Note. When you submit the form, your information is sent directly to beehiiv over an encrypted connection. It is not stored on this website, and this website has no database of subscribers. For the purposes of laws like the GDPR, The Leadership Note acts as the data controller for the subscriber list and beehiiv acts as a data processor on our behalf. How we use your information

• To send you the newsletter you asked for.
• To confirm your subscription and manage your preferences.
• To understand, in aggregate, how the newsletter is performing.

We do not sell your information, rent it, or share it with anyone for their own marketing. Ever.

Your choices and rights

• Every issue includes an unsubscribe link. One click and you are off the list, handled automatically by beehiiv.
• You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the information we hold about you by emailing hello@theleadershipnote.example.com.
• Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA. We honor those requests regardless of where you live.

Cookies

Children

This website and newsletter are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
